Say hello to these cute little blast-from-the-past fashion staples! This 80's/90's trend has recently come back in style and it inspired me to get creative with my leftover fabric salvage! Instead of letting the smaller scraps sit in a bag in my studio (or worse--in a landfill somewhere)...I've been finding new ways to utilize those pieces and make them into something useful and beautiful. What is extra special about these scrunchies is that each one has its own story, having been made from various fabrics I've picked up along my travels. They are all high quality fabrics which I've used in personal clothing sewing projects.
Each Fabric has a Story...
- The mauve fabric is a linen I chose for a maxi dress I was making. I found it in a shop in Krakow, Poland last Christmas time!
- The sage fabric is a linen I chose for some spring shorts I made. I purchased this fabric here in my current hometown of Munich, Germany!
- The ivory fabric is a more textured linen which was one of the very first fabric purchases I ever made, back in 2017, before I had taught myself how to sew. At the time, I bought it for cross-stitch projects, but it ended up being made into multiple clothing items years later! It was purchased in Greenville, South Carolina (my previous hometown)!
- The sweet, whimsical blue floral is a luxuriously soft and stretchy cotton jersey I made into a simple summer dress. I discovered this fabric while on a trip with my mom in Vienna, Austria!

🧼Cleaning Instructions🧽 Spot cleaning: Dip a soft cloth into a mild liquid soap mixed with warm water, squeeze out excess liquid, and blot away grime. Rinse the cloth under running water to remove suds, then wring well; use it to wipe the soap off your bag. Finally, with a clean, absorbent cloth (like a dishtowel), buff leather or blot fabric dry.
